Big Bad Basin Test Case
This is a rectangular, flat-bottomed basin with double-gyre wind forcing. When run, it produces a western boundary current flowing into a central "Gulf Stream" which goes unstable and generates eddies. The goal is to run adiabatically to study the homogenization of potential vorticity. It earned its name by causing difficulties for the spectral versions of SPEM and taking a long time to run.
