My name is Felipe Julio. Greetings to all.
I am currently working on a ROMS simulation and have a few questions. I would really appreciate your help and suggestions to improve my configuration.
Case description:
Forcings: surface pressure and wind stress (U and V components).
Boundary conditions: Ubar, Vbar, Zeta, and U, V at the 20 sigma layers.
(Currently, no interpolated temperature and salinity fields are included, as these are set constant for now).
The interpolation is done from Copernicus data (z-coordinate system) to the ROMS sigma grid (validated method).
The grid is closed on the eastern and southern boundaries.
The Rx0 value of the grid is 0.34, but it will be improved.
(I mention this because the simulation blows up when WET_DRY is not defined. However, when I enable #define WET_DRY, the simulation runs without issues. I suppose this option helps manage high current velocities in coastal areas.)
I will share the .h, .in, and .txt is the out file from a 15-day simulation for additional reference.
My main concerns:
After validating the model outputs with in situ data and other datasets, I observe large differences. I suspect there may be errors or aspects that need improvement in the current setup.
I would appreciate it if you could review the case and recommend possible adjustments regarding:
Relaxation values.
Proper boundary condition configurations.
Or any other aspect you consider important to obtain more realistic and reliable results.
Thank you very much for your time and any help you can provide!
Best regards,
Felipe Julio
