Hello Everyone -

You are cordially invited to submit abstracts to the parallel session of “Emerging Applications 1 - Coastal and Marine” at the upcoming Unifying Innovations in Forecasting Capabilities workshop (UIFCW), in Boulder, 24-28 July 2023.


You can submit an abstract by May 19th here: Unifying Innovations in Forecasting Capabilities Abstract Submission 2023 - Google Forms. There is no fee to submit an abstract. You will have the option to present in-person or virtually with virtual details forthcoming.

Session Description: With an eye towards the future, this session will feature presentations about cutting-edge research towards the development, testing, and evaluation of upcoming UFS applications, including coastal and marine applications.

Troubleshooting: It has been brought to our attention that some users cannot access their registration information to submit an abstract. If you are having difficulty editing your original submission to include an abstract, please email a PDF copy of your abstract to support.epic@noaa.gov.

Registration. Workshop registration is due on July 17, 2023. This is a hybrid workshop and you are able to attend in-person, virtually, or a combination of both. Please note that in-person registration will be limited to 200 attendees. If you have any problems accessing or submitting your registration, please email support.epic@noaa.gov.

Agenda. We have an exciting week planned for our participants! Get ready to share scientific updates, collaborate on future priorities, and ensure continuous community feedback. The agenda is available here. We’ll be updating this frequently with more information as we continue planning.

Accommodations. For those of you attending in-person, the workshop will be hosted at the UCAR Center Green in Boulder, CO. There is a room block available for workshop attendees with Hampton Inn & Suites Boulder-North, to reserve a room online, here. Please let the hotel know that you’re with the UIFCW when making your room reservation.

COVID protocols. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) updates their community levels indicator weekly on Thursday’s at 8:00 pm ET. A member of our staff checks the community levels for Boulder, CO every Friday morning to ensure the COVID community level remains LOW. Our plans if the Community Levels change are available here.
