Units and detritus in biological module

#1 Unread post by shuwen »

Hi all,

I have two very naive questions.
The first one is about the units in ROMS biological module. With NPZD_Powell as an example, every variable (P,Z,D) should be set as nitrogen-based, i.e. millimole_nitrogen meter-3. While in variable.dat, there is also unit millimole meter-3. I am wondering how should we provide input units and how ROMS convert these two units?

The second question is about detritus. If the climatological input are extracted from WOA2013 and SeaWiFs, how should we get detritus so as to provide initial and boundary conditions?

Thanks in advance for any answers!

Susan
