M.S. Studentship in Marine Renewable Energy

#1 Unread post by gcowles »

M.S. Research assistantships are available for highly qualified individuals interested in the rapidly growing field of marine renewable energy. Research will focus on resource assessments as well as an evaluation of the potential impacts of tidal kinetic energy extraction using the unstructured grid coastal ocean model (FVCOM). See (http://fvcom.smast.umassd.edu) for more information on our coastal ocean model.

A bachelors degree in oceanography, physics, engineering, computer sciences, applied mathematics or related field is required. Applicants should have strong mathematical and computer skills and a background in fluid mechanics. Review of applications is ongoing through Fall 2009, and will continue until the position is filled. Applications to our graduate program are available from our website: http://www.umassmarine.net/admissions/. For more information, please also visit our websites: http://www.smast.umassd.edu and http://www.umassmarine.net.

Interested applicants are encouraged to send a statement of interest and current resume to:
