netcdf-4.0.1 instatllation problems

#1 Unread post by isabelmonteiro »

I have installed the NetCDF package apparently with no problems, after doing "make check install" I got the message: Congratulations! You have successfully installed netCDF!

But when I tried to use ncdump I get the following message:
-bash: ncdump: command not found

Can you please tell me what can be wrong ?

I don't know about bash, but the shell I use needs a "rehash" so that it can take note of things in your path that are new since the first "hash". It builds a hash table of commands in your path to speed up finding them. Assuming of course that NetCDF got installed into a place on your path.

where did you install ncdump?
If it is not in a standard path (e.g., /usr/bin/), you have to export the path netcdf-4.1/bin in your .profile
