So what's the current state of the art in ROMS for a coastal simulation with the following characteristics?
* Mid-latitude
* Depth 10-100 m
* Reasonably strong stratification due to river outflow and summer heating
* Strong tidal flows
* Grid spacing 1000 m, to be reduced to ~ 200 m later
