blows up at first step with iceshelf

I am running an application with iceshelf thickness ("zice" in the grid file), values being positive.

But the first record is NaN and blows up.

Without including "zice", the model runs well.

So the problem is I am doing something wrong with the iceshelf thickness "zice"?

Can anyone has done with ice offer some clues?
