Problems about temp and zeta results

#1 Post by Vera » Wed Aug 23, 2017 3:08 am

Hi, everybody, I have run the South China Sea Roms model for 1 month(December 2009),and I get an obviously wrong results. Near the eastern boundary, there's a little strange, such as:

temp.png (30.82 KiB) Viewed 1647 times
and
zeta.png
zeta.png (23.75 KiB) Viewed 1647 times
The normal results from hycom should be like this:
temp1229.png
temp1229.png (32.79 KiB) Viewed 1647 times
The tide data is from OTPS, and forcing data is from ECMWF daily, and boundary condition is from hycom datasets. The output.dat is attached here.

I wish that somebody may know what the problem is and give me some advice.
thank you very much.

Hi,

You are using radiation boundary condition for T, S and 3d-momentum, meaning that it is not getting any boundary information on this variables during the simulation. Try using RadNud condition, or even clamped to see if the problem persists.

good luck,

Thanks for your reply, Gabriel!

Yes, I have tried them both, and the former condition has better results, but problems still exist.

surface temprature lower than hycom results.

ssh closer to the hycom results.

Any comments will be much appreciated, thanks in advance!
