values of "bustrcwmax"

#1 Unread post by carniel »

I am using the latest release to model the circulation induced by the coupled SWAN+ROMS in a nearshore region, where the circulation is indiced by the pure wave-current interaction.
These are the specifics:

The beach is 5000 m x 1000 m grid, grid size 20x 20 m; ROMS DT=10 s; SWAN DT=60s; Coupling Timestep= 600s
Bathymetric lines parallel to the coast, cross-shore DEAN profile
Sandy beach with D50= 200 um, fall velocity 4 cm/s, Shield parameter= 0.05
Incident wave: Hs= 2 m, Tp= 5.8 s, Dir= 330°N
Wind: 6 m/s, 330°N; Integration period= 24 hours
SSW_BBL on
SWAN_COUPLING on

I am puzzled since close to the southern boundary (walled), values of stress induced by current+wave are for the direction bustrcwmax > 10, bcstrcwmax larger than -30.
Since the currents only ines (bustr, bvstr) are small, they are msolty induced by wave
Any of you has been facing this on hos studies?
thanks

Sandro

Select a location along the southern coast where the bu/vstrcwmax stresses are hi. What are the values of Ub_swan, Pwave_bot, Dwave, and Hsig at one of those high stress locations??
