book

#1 Unread post by sara.oceanography »

Hi everyone,
I am new to modeling and this forum, I am glad to join this group. I am sure I can learn many things from you all.
I am looking for a book with subject of ocean modeling. I would be grateful to recommend an appropriate book. I have downloaded some book but They are so advanced.I need a lower level than them .

I am looking forward to any suggestion.

Best regards
Sara.

Dear Sara,

I'm not sure what you mean exactly by "lower level", but I can recommend a couple of very nice first-entry books in ocean modelling I've red in the past.
1)Ocean Modelling for Beginners, and 2) Advanced Ocean Modelling; they are both written by Jochen Kämpf, Springer ed.

Again, these books use a conceptual approach to cover the foundation of numerical modelling in Geophysical Fluid Dynamics and the ocean. I found them to be very explanatory and well written, with nice examples, exercises and sample code you can try yourself.

Best,
Stamatis
