my questions are about bulk file .
first one:is variable name important? for example: for surface pressure we are allowed to use every name or just use pair?
also about variable unit, it should be specific unit ? for example for pressure just can applied 'mb' or it is allowable to use 'pascal'.

varinfo.dat, which is located at /<your folder>/trunk/ROMS/External
have a short description of every field that ROMS can handle (input
and output). Also check roms_metadata.m (~/trunk/matlab/netcdf/).
