STATIONS - inconsistent number of points

I get the following error when I try to get the results output at selected points:
"Read_StaPar inconsistent number of points..." ...change input script values"
I have checked the number of points in the station.in file that I am using and the point numbers match with NSTATION. I changed the number of stations, used examples under ROMS/External folder, the the numbers change but the error is the same.
I am running the code in openMPI mode. Could it be the problem?

Have you tried something simpler, like adding stations to UPWELLING? Having just a few stations? Running in serial?
