ROMS coupling to groundwater model

#1 Unread post by nganju »

Are there any known attempts to couple ROMS with groundwater models, e.g. for studies of coastal saltwater intrusion, submarine groundwater discharge, etc.? Is this something that could be handled by the Model Coupling Toolkit? Just curious...

Neil-
I am not sure if anyone is working on coupling ROMS to say, MODFLOW, or any other groundwater model. In the mean time, if you are interested in benthic exchange flows, you could use routines like ana_btflux to input tracers into the model from groundwater flow. And you could use UV_QSOURCE to input point sources of water at rho points at the bed.
This would be a 1 way nest (from groundwater into ROMS).
