Folks,
It would be nice to have a list of ROMS models running in operational or quasi-operational mode. I know of two:
Adriatic Sea:

Southern California Bight:
http://ourocean.jpl.nasa.gov/SCB/index.jsp
Are there more?
Thanks,
Rich

Re: Operating ROMS nowcast/forecast models
Rich,
A good idea to make a list of (pre-) operational ROMS models.
We have been running our model for the NE Atlantic since Jan 2007. The simulations can be viewed at :-
http://www.marine.ie/home/services/oper ... anForecast
online validation can be viewed at :-
http://www.marine.ie/home/services/oper ... Validation
We will shortly be adding microwave SST, tide gauge and some databuoy validations to this page.
The model forecast runs three times a week as well as a 7 day hindcast, which is saved. It has a 2.5 km grid size with 40 levels. It is nested within the MERCATOR system (http://www.mercator-ocean.fr).
I'd be more than happy to provide any details that about our setup.
Marcel

Re: Operating ROMS nowcast/forecast models
We have also recently proposed a nowcast/forecast system over New Caledonia: http://prevision.ird.nc/ (look at PREVISIONS/OCEAN).
It is based on a protable package developped as part of the Romstools (IRD team).
Our New Caledonia system is presented in the July 2008 MERCATOR Newsletter n°30:

Re: Operating ROMS nowcast/forecast models
The ChesROMS (Chesapeake ROMS) is also operationally running for about 1.5 years now.
More details:

Here are results daily for Sea Nettle, HAB and Pathogen Vibrio Cholerae based on empirical formulars involving ROMS predicted T and S.

A better GIS page with results is at
