relaxation scheme

#1 Unread post by pooran »

Dear all,
I am going to use relaxation scheme, but I don't know the meaning of it exactly, I was wondering if you could give me some necessary information, or if you could introduce me a good reference about that.
I would really appreciate your help in advance.

kind regards,
Pooran

Maybe you should start by telling us why you think you need a relaxation scheme? What problem are you trying to solve?

Dear Kate,
I am going to use the relaxation scheme in the open boundary, I have two options to define salinity and temperature in the open boundary
1- using hycom or Noaa data
2- using the relaxation scheme
I don't know which way is better .I would be grateful if you could guide me.

Kind regards,
Pooran

So as part of the RadNud boundary conditions? Just try that, with either hycom or noaa. If you don't like how it's working, you can add some boundary nudging to climatology. It should all be in the manual, right?
