We are seeking multiple postdoctoral researchers in Ocean Biogeochemical and Ecosystem Modeling to join a collaborative project aimed at understanding climate variability and change in eastern boundary upwelling systems. Areas of interest include but are not limited to climate impacts on acidification and hypoxia, microbial nutrient cycling, species habitat and food webs. The successful candidate will join a collaborative and interdisciplinary research group, located at the University of Washington and University of California Los Angeles, engaged in development and application of Regional Earth System Models to a wide range of questions in biogeochemistry, ecology, and climate. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Ocean Science, Ecology, or a related field, and effective oral and written communication skills. Experience with numerical modeling (e.g. ROMS) and/or model analysis is advantageous. Candidates should submit a CV, a 1-page statement of research interests and goals, and contact information for 3 references to Curtis Deutsch (cdeutsch@uw.edu) or Daniele Bianchi (dbianchi@atmos.ucla.edu). Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the available positions are filled. The initial term of appointment is one year, renewable on an annual basis.
