Hydrodynamic Modeller



We are seeking a hydrodynamic modeller to join our team of marine physicists, biogeochemists and ecologists. You will have experience in the implementation and interpretation of hydrodynamic models, and in the analysis of field data, including satellite data. You will understand ocean dynamics at inshore and shelf scales, and will have a strong interest in the role of ocean physics in the function and health of marine ecosystems. You will have a commitment to teamwork and multidisciplinary research. You will wish to work not only on describing the marine environment, but also on approaches that will assist state managers to assess scenarios of change in climate and coastal development. You will be committed to quality research that has practical benefit.

CSIRO Marine and Atmospheric Research (CMAR) aims to advance Australian climate, marine, and earth systems science. Our research focuses on issues affecting Australia and the world, and we provide a range of scientific and consulting services that are underpinned by this research. CMAR has more than 500 staff, plus more than 100 students and long-term visitors. Staff are located at sites in five states: Aspendale, Victoria; Canberra, ACT; Cleveland, Queensland; Floreat, Western Australia; and Hobart, Tasmania, where the Headquarters are located. CMAR also manages the National Facility – Ocean Research Vessel Southern Surveyor.
