Modeling/Field technician position U. Minnesota, Duluth

A position as a technician/Assistant Scientist is available at the Large Lakes observatory at the University of Minnesota, Duluth. The position entails both numerical modeling and assisting with field research in Lake Superior and in other large lakes around the world. Current projects include developing nowcast modeling capability for the St. Louis Estuary/Lake Superior system using FVCOM, support of a great lakes glider program, autonomous profiler operations, and meteorology buoys.

The Large Lakes Observatory is a research group at the University of Minnesota, Duluth, which applies oceanographic techniques to developing a better scientific understanding of large lakes around the world.

Job requirements are: a BS in Physics, Engineering, Oceanography, or related field. Preferred qualities include: an MS in an appropriate field, experience with numerical modeling, experience with field equipment.
