School for Marine Science and Technology
University of Massachusetts Dartmouth

The School for Marine Science and Technology at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth invites applications from qualified students to our Ph.D. program to work on problems relating to ocean mixing. Present research areas include numerical modeling of small-scale mixing in the ocean in the context of oceanographic field studies using dye and drifter release experiments. Successful applicants are eligible for a tuition waiver plus annual stipend.

A Bachelors or Masters degree in oceanography, physics, applied mathematics, engineering or related field is required. Applicants should have strong mathematical and computer skills and some background in physical and/or earth sciences. Review of applications is ongoing and will continue until positions are filled. Full-time enrollment beginning as early as Fall 2015, but no later than Fall 2016, is expected.
