This research position is NSF-funded, and the successful candidate will join a team of researchers from Maine and New Hampshire working on a multi-year, large-scale project. The successful candidate is expected to develop and implement estuarine-coastal models to investigate the interaction between estuarine conditions and bacterial pollution as part of the New England Sustainability Consortium's Safe Beaches and Shellfish Project under the advisement of Drs. Qualifications: Ph.D. in relevant scientific field is required at time of appointment. Expertise in numerical hydrodynamic modeling is also a requirement and experience with unstructured grids is preferred. Strong analytical skills, enthusiasm for collaboration within multidisciplinary teams and with external constituents including industry, and the ability to conduct synthetic, high-impact research are also important attributes.
