Postdoc - Virginia Institute of Marine Sciences

#1 Unread post by wilkin »

Dear colleagues,

We would like to invite applications for the position of Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our NASA-funded multi-institutional research team investigating the impact of climate variability and land-use change on the transport and cycling of carbon and nitrogen to and within the coastal ocean. This three-year NASA-funded project will involve linking a ROMS-based ocean biogeochemical-circulation model of the northeastern North American continental shelf to a Dynamic Land Ecosystem Model. The successful post-doctoral candidate will study the role of estuarine processes in linking rivers to the coastal ocean, and specifically be responsible for improving the biogeochemical model simulations within Chesapeake Bay.

The position will be located primarily at the Virginia Institute of Marine Sciences (VIMS) at the College of William and Mary, but the successful candidate will work closely with John Wilkin at Rutgers University and Eileen Hofmann at Old Dominion University. The initial appointment is for one year with re-appointments of up to two subsequent years, contingent on satisfactory performance. For additional information regarding the position, please see attached ad, and/or contact Dr. Marjorie Friedrichs at: marjy@vims.edu.
