SUBJECT: PhD position

The Oceanic Projects Division, of Admiral Paulo Moreira Sea Research Institute, from the Brazilian Navy, is accepting curricula to fill PhD position.

This professional will perform activities in processing and analysis meteo-oceanographic data to assimilate on oceanic models, focusing in ocean forecasting.

The main research areas of this Division are:

1) Ocean Circulation of regional and large scales;
2) Oceanographic Models for Coastal and Oceanic Circulation;
3) Ocean dynamics;
4) remote sensing applied to Oceanography;
5) Construction of synoptic thermohaline fields in near-real time;
6) Collecting, processing and analysis of oceanographic data; and
7) Acoustical Oceanography.

The candidate should preferably have a PhD in Oceanography, Meteorology or related area, with experience in Physical Oceanography.
