Graduate Research Opportunity at University of Miami, Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science (RSMAS), PhD level. We invite applications from talented and motivated students interested in pursuing a degree in fisheries oceanography, and larval transport. Applicants with a M.S. degree or three years of relevant post-undergraduate experience as well as strong computer skills are encouraged. The prospective student must be admitted to the University of Miami RSMAS AMP or MPO graduate program (http://www.rsmas.miami.edu/grad-studies/) and is expected to participate in a research program at RSMAS under the tutelage of Dr. Claire Paris (http://www.rsmas.miami.edu/divs/amp/Peo ... lty/Paris/) and Dr Laurent Cherubin (http://coastalmodeling.rsmas.miami.edu/). The PhD position starts in spring 2009 and includes a monthly stipend, full tuition remission, research support, and travel to domestic and international conferences. If you are interested in this position, please send Claire Paris (cparis@rsmas.miami.edu) or Laurent Cherubin (lcherubin@rsmas.miami.edu) an e-mail with “PhD position” in the subject line. We encourage students from the natural sciences, mathematics, or engineering, so long as their research interest relates to numerical modeling. Selection will favor interdisciplinary, collaborative interests.
