2012 ROMS/TOMS Users Workshop, Rio de Janeiro - 3rd Notice

#1 Unread post by arango »

2012 ROMS/TOMS User Workshop
Petrópolis Conference Room, Windsor Atlântica Hotel, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, October 22 - 25, 2012

The ROMS workshop is just around the corner and we need a final headcount for catering purposes. If you are registered for the workshop and will not be able to attend please let us know as soon as possible by emailing Hernan Arango at arango@marine.rutgers.edu. That way we can give the people on the waiting list the opportunity to attend the workshop.

The deadline for abstracts for oral presentations and posters is August 31, 2012. Assembling the program is very time consuming and needs to be printed well in advance so we can ship them to Rio. Please submit your abstract by the August 31st deadline. You can enter/update your abstract by visiting  this page (you will be asked to log in).

All US citizens holding a US passport are required to obtain a visa to enter Brazil. Detailed visa information for United States citizens can be found  here. The workshop  travel information page has a table listing visa exemptions as of July 20, 2011. If your country does not appear in the list, or even if it does, check with the Brazilian consulate in your country for visa requirements.

Airline flights for Rio de Janeiro are beginning to fill up so we recommend that you make your reservations as soon as possible. The same applies for hotel reservations; the more affordable room rates at hotels in the Copacabana area fill up fast. Hotel and travel information for the workshop can be found  here.

All workshop information, including for travel and hotels, can be found  here. Further information will be posted on that site as it becomes available.

Looking forward to seeing you in Rio,

Organizing Committee,
