How to make the salinity field constant

#1 Unread post by Alex5 »

Dear all,

I am doing an idealized case to see the mixing process caused by Tropical cyclone. I want to exclude the effect of salinity, so it is better to make it constant during the simulation. Can you give me a hint how to do this in ROMS. Thanks a lot.

Turning off the SALINITY cpp option is one step. If you do, you no longer have access to the nonlinear equation of state, so maybe you want to turn that off first. Once you've done both of those, you can set NAT to 1 in ocean.in for only one active tracer.
