Thank you very much for your insightful suggestion.
You're absolutely right—imposing both zeta and ubar independently without accounting for their dynamical linkage can indeed lead to unphysical results, especially when their phase relationship isn't consistent with the nature of the incoming tide ...

I have tried setting zeta_east as clamped, but unfortunately the model blows up within the first day. It seems that extremely high velocity or density gradients develop near the northwestern and southwestern corners, possibly due to reflection or ...

Problem adding 3m M2 tidal forcing in idealized ROMS case – only ~0.3m appears
Dear ROMS community,
I am trying to add M2 tidal forcing with an amplitude of 3 meters in an idealized ROMS setup, but the simulated surface elevation only shows a much smaller amplitude, around 0.3 m.
Here is a summary of my setup:
- Model type: Idealized 3D (with slope bottom and uniform ...

Re: ROMS blowing up problem
Dear uranoscopus,
I have had similar problems, My model blew up at 10 days, apparently due to high water velocity values in historical files near the North and South border.
Have you solved this problem? Could you give me some advice?
Thanks in advance.
Best regards.
zsheng.

Model boundary error
hi all
I'm modeling the ocean along the china coastline. I planned to run ROMS for 3 months, but the ROMS failed after about 15 days and I don't know how to deal with this error. Could anyone give me some ideas about it?

Re: I/O error
Thanks again for your help.
When I set the parameters in the .in file as shown in the image below, my problem is solved, but I don't know why?

Re: I/O error
First of all, thank you!
Strangely enough, when I was running on the South Sea server it was normal to copy to my own server and this error appeared. why?
