svn access forbidden username with 'at' problem?

I'm trying to install ROMS but without success. I've installed svn and use the command,
svn checkout --username name@institution.edu https://www.myroms.org/svn/src/trunk mydir

I am prompted for my password and after entering it get,

svn: access to 'https://www.myroms.org/svn/src/trunk' forbidden ...
