Re: Query regarding sponge width

Thank you very much Kate. So now if my model resolution is 14km then the sponge can be a multiple of 14 so it will be good to give a value as 84 km right? Whether it is dependent or independent of regions and domain?

Query regarding sponge width

Hello to all, Can anyone tell me in ROMS 3.7 version how (on the basis of which criteria) and where we can define the sponge width? From previous forum discussion topics I got that it is defined on the resolution. If yes then what should be the preferred ratio between model resolution and sponge wid...

doubt regarding unit conversion of evaporation

Dear all,

I want to understand what is the correct way to convert the MERRA latent heat flux conversion into evaporation flux(E=H/Lv). finally to calculate evaporation(kg/m^2/sec)-precipitation(kg/m^2/sec)=swflux(cm/day)

Doubt regarding the vertical levels distribution in model

Hello all, ROMS is a sigma co-ordinate model. So, it follows the bathymetry to distribute all levels. Whether all levels are equally spaced or there is any way to control the distances between the levels or their distribution. let say i defined the 40 levels vertical resolution, how these 40 level w...

Re: error while running model as saving output w.r. to ntime

Yes, kate I checked as per your clue but I have still 890 GB left in my output destination, I also tried by using different DT as well as different ntimes but nothing is resolving this issue. Is there any other mistake I am making.

Thanks & Regards--

We resolved this issue by adding attribute "_FillValue = 1.e+20;" to the uwind, vwind variables in forcings files. By default it was having missing_value attribute. I just followed the same procedure for all my required forcings files. Now model is working fine. I got this _FillValue attri...
