Thank you John,
I attached my roms files. It is a simple test case. When I defend outflow, Salinity decreases and vice versa.

Re: freshwater river inflow increased salinity of lake
Thank you for your reply.
I did same settings for river definition. Salinity increased again. Is there any solution for increasing salinity?

Re: freshwater river inflow increased salinity of lake
I defined rivers both in lateral boundary and mask areas (mask = 0), but I still have the same problem with LuvSrc. I tried LwSrc (mask = 1), and the salinity increased (I attached a salinity vertical profile close to the river mouth). I changed my settings and defined one inflow and one outflow. Sa...

Re: freshwater river inflow increased salinity of lake
Thank you for your reply. There is no place with a salinity of less than 14 PSU. The river salinity is 0 PSU, and the river temperature is 4 degrees C. Based on velocity fields, river directions are correct. I changed my f=0, but still, i have the same problem with salinity. I attached velocity fiel...

freshwater river inflow increased salinity of lake
Dear all, I am working with an axisymmetric idealized lake. I added two freshwater river inflows with a constant temperature of 4 degrees centigrade (I activated LUVSrc and temperature and salinity tracers). The lake surface temperature is set to freezing point temperature, and the lake's salinity i...

Re: River Input
Dear John, I want to run an idealized ice-covered lake with a homogenous salinity of 0 PSU (I did not add an ice model). The surface temperature was set to freezing point temperature, with an initial linear stratification within the water column to a temperature of maximum density at the bottom. My ...

Re: River Input
Thank you for your thoughtful response.
I added solar radiation effects to the model, but I couldn't keep the surface temperature at 0 degrees throughout the entire model run. Is there any way to achieve this?

Re: River Input
Hi all, Thank you, John and Kate. I run a model with two river inflows. I added solar radiation effects to this model (#define SOLAR_SOURCE). I cannot run it because the model needs a forcing file (It works without river inflow). I defined #define ANA_SMFLUX #define ANA_STFLUX #define ANA_SSFLUX #de...

Re: River Input
Dear kate,
Thanks for getting back to me.
Are these phyton files on your GitHub?
I want to add some fresh water to my idealized lake. Adding several rivers is the best option. Can I add Qs? I cannot add a file like precipitation because it is an ice-covered lake.

River Input
Dear John,
I want to define a river in my idealized axisymmetric lake rather than as a point. I want to have distributed river input across the whole lake surface. Is it possible, or must I define it as source/sink points?
Best regards,
Fatima

solar radaiation
Dear all, I want to add The decay law for the flux of solar radiation in my model. As you know, it reduces with depth exponentially. I = I0 * e^(-k*d) where I is the intensity of solar radiation at a given depth in the water, I0 is the intensity of radiation at the surface of the ice, k is the atten...

Re: Signed Integer Overflow
Dear Arango,
Thank you for your answer. I am using gfortran and fedora (35) Linux. I did not change the definition. How can I solve the problem?
I have access to intel Fortran and a server. Do you think I should switch to the server and intel Fortran, or can I solve this problem?
Best regards,
Fatima
