Re: Questions about bio_fennel simulation
Hi Dr. Fennel, Thank you so much for the quick reply. Actually I really need your suggestions. Since the region where I will at last configure for 3D coupled model has deepest water depth with only 100m, so at present the experiments I set up by running 1D bio-toy are with different water depth, 30m...

Questions about bio_fennel simulation
Hi all, This problem has been confused me for a while and I am seeking for help here. I was trying to configure a coupled 3D physical - fennel biology model for the MAB region, but the surface chlorophyll spatial distribution and the time of bloom always went wrong (comparing with satellite and in-s...

Units and detritus in biological module
Hi all, I have two very naive questions. The first one is about the units in ROMS biological module. With NPZD_Powell as an example, every variable (P,Z,D) should be set as nitrogen-based, i.e. millimole_nitrogen meter-3. While in variable.dat, there is also unit millimole meter-3. I am wondering ho...

Re: Couldn't write average result
Hi Kate,
Thanks for your reply! I am using ifort compiler system and the version is the newest 3.6 (just updated yesterday).
Actually now the average file could successfully be generated only if I don't defining 2D variables, i.e. ubar, vbar, zeta. That's really bizarre.

Couldn't write average result
Hi all, Today I updated my ROMS version from 3.4 to 3.6, but when I tried to repeat an old case, it seems that with v3.6 I couldn't write out the average files. The log file always stopped at: STEP Day HH:MM:SS KINETIC_ENRG POTEN_ENRG TOTAL_ENRG NET_VOLUME C => (i,j,k) Cu Cv Cw Max Speed 0 0 00:00:00...

Re: Error while processing Climatology multi-files:
Hi, I just want to extend this question more: would it be possible to put several climatological files with different variables? To be more specific, since climatological files require 2D & 3D velocity, temperature, salinity and zeta. However, if the data set is too big to write in one nc file, ...

Re: ROMS wetting-drying and bulk flux heating/cooling
Yes. I also have the same question. Is there any more detailed instruction for heat flux forcing for ROMS?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Whoops! The figures don't show up. I attach the two figures here. Sorry about that.

Abnormal SST and unsatisfying heat flux in the model output
Hi all, I am testing different climatological surface forcing for ROMS in our model domain (Northeast North Atlantic (NENA), focusing on Mid-Atlantic Bight area (MAB) ) but now I get some unrealistic results. Since ROMS could be forced in two different ways: either by direct surface flux or using bu...
