Re: Error when changing boundaries for an idealized river pl

Since the plume propogates very fast along the coastline, and it can easily reach the southern boundary in several days. Perodic OBC brings the plume into your domain through northern boundary, which contaminant your solution. That's why I suggest you extend the domain to the south. Regards, ZQ Tha...

Re: Error when changing boundaries for an idealized river pl

I think, that periodic OBC for southern and northern boundaries should be better than the others. You may want to extend your grid southward. Regards, ZQ Thank you ZQ for you replying. But I have already try the following boundary conditions: 1. The west and east boundaries are solid ones, and the ...

How the set the zero gradient condition in ROMS?

Dear all,
How to set a zero gradient condition at the sea boundary in ROMS?

Thank you very much.

Error when changing boundaries for an idealized river plume

Dear all, I am now running a test case of an idealized river plume. When I set the boundary conditions as follow, west-Clo,south-Gra,east-Clo,north-Gra The current field in the first layer on the 12.25 day is shown as figure1 in the attachment figures.docx I want to change the east boundary to open ...

Thank you Kate.

I have already set like that, but the result is not what I want, so I doubt about myshelf. Now I set like that too, and let model run longer time, then I get what I want.

Thanks again.

Re: How to set the East boundary in an idealized topography

Check ocean_riverplume1.in and ocean_riverplume2.in from the ROMS distribution. Both have walls for the east, but they differ in how they handle the north and south. Yes,Kate,I have already tried the methods they set, by the way, I want to add wind in my idealized model but the ocean_riverplume1 an...

How to set the East boundary in an idealized topography

Dear all, I want to set up an idealized river plume model and I set the western boundary to be land, northern, sourthern boundary to be sea, so in my ocean_riverplume.in file I set the variable LBC(**) , the 1(west)-Clo, 2(south)-Rad, 4(north)-Rad, butI don't know how to set the " 3(east) "...

Re: Questions about the outcome of the test case riverplume2

Hi I recently used riverplume2 for a test case in a class. And, yes, the salinity distribution evolves to look like that. I think to improve it you need to change the downstream open boundary condition for salinity. Best wishes, Courtney Harris Thank you very much!Could you please tell me how to ch...

Questions about the outcome of the test case riverplume2

Hi, all
The distributions of salinity in 3 layer for the riverplume2 test case (https://www.myroms.org/wiki/index.php/Test_Cases) are shown in the attachments. Are there something wrong with the test case?
Who can help me? Thank you!

Re: An error when I do the test case of upwelling

I was going to suggest that you try compiling your simple test with that option, but I tried it first: delta.arsc.edu 291% gfortran -fno-strict-overflow testio.f f951: error: unrecognized command line option "-fno-strict-overflow" delta.arsc.edu 292% gfortran --version GNU Fortran (GCC) 4...

Re: An error when I do the test case of upwelling

What compiler did you ask for with the FORT variable? It is telling you that that compiler does not know of the -fno-strict-overflow option which is coming from one of the gfortran files in the Compilers directory. Did you ask for gfortran or does your gfortran not recognize that option? What versi...
