Alcala is about 20 Km from the Barajas International Airport and around 30 Km north of Madrid. The
University of Alcalá dates back to the XVI century and it is on Unesco World Heritage preservation
list (See http://whc.unesco.org/en/list/876).
The city of Alcalá de Henares dates back to the Roman Empire. It is the birth place of Miguel de
Cervantes (El Quijote), an icon of Spanish literature. It is close to other cities in the plains
of la Mancha like Guadalajara, Toledo, and Cuenca.
The workshop is open to everyone but we especially encourage our European users to attend and present their work with ROMS.
Please let us know by Friday, April 28, 2006 if you plan to attend. If you plan to present a talk or poster, please send us your abstract by Friday, June 2, 2006. Send your intention to attend and abstract to arango@marine.rutgers.edu.
Looking forward to seeing you in Alcalá de Henares,
