2004 ROMS/TOMS Workshop, Venice (Italy)

The first ROMS/TOMS European Workshop will be held at the Institute of Marine Sciences of the Italian Research Council (CNR-ISMAR Venice), October 18-20, 2004.

One of the goals of the workshop is to introduce ROMS/TOMS new algorithms and tools for realistic applications including grid generation and conditioning, data preparation, configuration options, open boundary conditions strategies, nesting, vertical mixing parameterizations, atmospheric and interdisciplinary coupling, parallelism, and other scientific and technical issues. In addition, we will like to introduce ROMS/TOMS tangent linear and adjoint algorithms for variational data assimilation (strong and weak constraint 4DVAR), ensemble forecasting, and stability analysis.

Due to the limited space available at CNR-ISMAR Venice Auditorium priority will be given to those who register by April 30, and provide an Abstract by May 31. Please send your intention to attend and abstract to arango@marine.rutgers.edu.

We will provide further information as it becomes available.
